Pat Asadu  free medical outreach

Beneficiaries of the ongoing one week free medical outreach organized by Dr Pat Asadu representing Nsukka/Igboeze-South Federal constituency in Enugu State have expressed gratitude to the legislator.

The  outreach was in collaboration  with University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) Enugu,  while Asadu paid for  drugs and other things, UNTH provided personnel for the exercise.

In a separate interview with some of the beneficiaries at UNTH Health Centre  Obupka in Igboeze-South local government area  the venue of the outreach on Friday  they thanked God who used Asadu to heal their illnesses. 

Mrs Onochi Onu who undergone major fibroid surgery said what could have caused her N2.3m was done free of charge for her by Asadu.
"For seven  years this fibroid had been disturbing me and some of the hospitals I went, I was told to bring N2.3m for the surgery.

"I thank God who used Asadu to do it for me free of charge, May God replenish him in millionfold," she said. 


Mr Godwin Nwachukwu who had been booked for cataract surgery said for something he had been having problems with one of his eyes.
"I have irritation and itching in one of my eyes and I went to hospital they told me is cataract and it needs surgery. 

"I have been booked for surgery free of charge because,  Asadu who represents Nsukka /Igboezesouth in House of Representatives has paid for it. 

"I  lacked words to express my gratitude to Asadu for having the health of his people at heart," he said 

Mrs Juliana Ugwuoke who had undergone  surgery in one of  her eyes prayed God to  bless Asadu for the free medical outreach.
"I am very happy  that I can now see very well with my eyes, may God bless Asadu for special love and care for poor people," she said. 

Speaking the team leader of 'Doctors on the Move Africa' Dr Joseph Kigbu said Doctors on the move Africa are  group of  doctors  who benefited from community scholarship.
" We decided to offer our service free in medical outreach like this  as one way of given back to the community. 

"We will attend to no fewer than six  thousand patients before the end of the one week programme which started on Nov 25
Since Monday the exercise started we have conducted manor and major surgeries in fibroid, hynia, cataracts, cesarean section operations and other health problems we are handling in this outreach  are free of charge.

" The 200 patients we booked for various surgeries if they are to pay for the surgeries it will  not be less than N100m  ," he said. 


Also speaking, Mrs Theresa Eze, a Health officer in Obukpa UNTH health centre said this is the  6th year Asadu had conducted free medical outreach  for people in his constituency. 

Eze said outreach was in collaboration with UNTH Enugu,  while  Asadu paid for drugs and other things to be used  for the outreach UNTH provided personnel.
"This is the 6th year of UNTH partnership with Asadu in providing free medical care  that has helped to solve many health problems of people in the constituency.

"I commend the national legislator for his kindness  to ensure annually that his people enjoy one week free medical care,"she said.
